Things I Wish I Didn’t Hear When I Was a Kid.

And I wish no kid would ever hear ever again.

It’s not about regretting what was said in the past; I certainly believe that I wouldn’t be the person I am now had I not heard what people around me had to say.

I’ve listed things I think no child should ever hear. I had listened to those bullet-like words, and they’re not what I’d want the ears and minds of children these days to be filled with.

Some people keep on saying, “It was different back then.” It indeed was. Back then, you could get away with torturing helpless kids both physically and emotionally.

In those days, you could hit them with anything you had at hand while verbally abusing them. You could get them to work for hours while telling them they’re lazy and stupid.

You could yell at them in front of people for no reason other than frustration, or you could have misjudged the situation and lost your temper immediately.

Back in the day, those things were acceptable.

My grandfather once wrote on my cousin’s school card, “A lazy child needs a rod to direct him.”

I believe in teaching a kid what’s acceptable and what isn’t. If these children still misbehave, they should be dealt with more firmly.
