If I had billions of income, I’d gladly provide for the needs of school children in poverty-stricken areas.

I have yet to meet or hear of a teacher who makes 100k a year. And if I were in a position to pass laws, I’d make sure that teachers get a minimum of 100k a year, but the screening should be tougher so we get the cream of the crop. The unnecessarily high-ranking people who don't do the actual work should get paid less than the teachers.

A teacher plans lessons, teaches, manages classes, counsels students, babysits, test-preps, checks assignments and tests, grades, deals with entitled and misbehaving parents, etc.

Teachers work long hours in and out of the classroom, but get paid less than or similar to first-time service crews at fast-food chains. They're also at risk of being verbally and physically abused by their students and their parents.

It is indeed a dog-eat-dog world.
